Notes from this week's PR News:
1. Weber Shandick has a staff “dedicated solely” to monitoring food blogs.
2. It's far better to roll up your sleeves and engage Wikipedia than to shy away from it. An editorial explains: “[W]hile it may seem comforting to cast off Wikipedia as an untrustworthy source of information, its Google rank, usage statistics, and place in the contemporary lexicon prove that it's a widely visited, widely disseminated site. The only way to survive there is to use the discussion feature, enlist unaffiliated advocates (by appealing to their interest in the truth), and get to a place where the facts are right and the opinions are fair.”
